學校簡介

本次要介紹的學校是加拿大公立蘭里教育局的國際學生項目(Langley School District Canada International student program)。

加拿大公立蘭里教育局是英屬哥倫比亞省(BC省，或做卑詩省)第七大教育區，而蘭里(Langley)是BC省最早開發的城市。旗下共有40所學校，包括8間High Schools，3間middle Schools 和29間小學，共計19,000名學生。

加拿大公立蘭里教育局自1989年起開始招收國際學生，提供國際生完整的教育選擇，包含中學(upper schools & middle schools)、中學暑期課程、國小及暑期文化語言學習班等。區域內學校開設了許多不同課程選項，並有優異的中學ELL(English Language Learning)初級至高級的課程。每一所學校也安排了專門的國際學生事務負責人，確保國際生能在蘭里獲得第二故鄉的感受，並在學子求學過程中給予各方面的協助。

加拿大公立蘭里教育局內的學校提供齊全的主修、語言和選修課程，還有各種課外活動、興趣小組和體育團隊，包含排球、籃球、足球、橄欖球、越野活動和田徑。所有學校也都提供各類美術課程，包含音樂、戲劇和視覺藝術等。學校也提供大學先修課程等特別課程。

加拿大公立蘭里教育局位於加拿大BC卑詩省溫哥華以東45公里處，是一個擁有舒服氣候、安全社區、優質休閒設施及友善人民的地方，居民以英語為主要溝通語言，學生將被安排入住寄宿家庭，寄宿家庭均由教育局自設的寄宿家庭部門安排，24小時全面支援國際學生的需要。老師、學生、協調員和寄宿家庭都會定期互相溝通，遇上問題會盡速處理，並定期將學生的成績表現回饋給家長。家長也可直接與國際學生協調員聯繫，以獲知學生們的學習進度和日常表現。

5. Langley Fundamental Middle & Secondary School (LFMS)

【校區設施】

Langley School District 加拿大公立蘭里教育局近年在軟硬體上也不斷翻新更新、與時俱進，擁有新媒體、音樂和攝影工作室，木工工作室、Roll-A-Lab計算機中心、擁有先進技術的電腦和科技實驗室、AutoCAD與科技繪圖課程、設備齊全的世界級體育設施、多個圖書館及自修室等多種多樣化的設施。各校設施羅列如下：

■ Aldergrove Secondary School
Modern Language Labs, 8 science labs, computer labs, library with internet access. Animation lab, photo studio and darkroom, greenhouse, music rooms, acting, theatre studio, student centre, metalwork lab, woodwork lab, auto shop, 3 full size gyms and weight training facilities.

■ Brookswood Secondary School
58 modern classrooms, 6 science labs, 4 computer labs, networked library & media centre, 2 gymnasiums, 300-seat theatre, television and movie production studio.

■ D.W. Poppy Secondary School
Cafeteria, networked library, 3 computer labs and 4 science labs, 2 full size gyms, weight training room, band room, acoustic music rooms, theatre facility, photo lab, art room, 2 home economics room, woodwork room, metalwork room, student government room and post secondary and career preparation lab.

■ Langley Fine Arts School
Langley Fine Arts is the only school in Canada that focuses on a fine art major from Grades 1 to 12. The school facility is equipped with high level dance, music, drama, photography and art studios to meet the needs of the Fine Arts program. In addition, Langley Fine Arts is also the home of the 310 seat Chief Sepass Theatre which hosts many school and community performances.

■ Langley Fundamental Middle & Secondary
Full Middle and Secondary facilities including specialty classrooms for science, art, home economics, computers, music and physical education. PE programs with ac- cess to ice skating, roller rink, curling and full sized gym. Library is completely net- worked to multiple computer stations.

■ Langley Secondary School
Study Support Room, Networked Library, Science Labs, Metalwork Shop, Carpentry Shop, Automotive Shop, Textile Lab, Cooking Labs, Photography Lab. Fine Arts Facilities—Acoustic Music Room, Dance Studio, Acting Studio, Dramnasium, 2 Full Size Gyms, Weight Training Facilities, Lacrosse Box, Access to Stadium and Track.

■ R.E. Mountain Secondary School
Networked library, IB student lounge, specialty facilities for computers, science, physical education, home economics, music, fine arts, auto, wood and metalwork. Students can also access the new Langley Events Centre (ice rink, gymnasium and multi-use sports facilities.

■ Walnut Grove Secondary School
Three gyms, weight room, courtyard, four computer labs, fully networked library, computer drafting lab and specialized science labs. Walnut Grove also has specialized rooms for art, photography, music, home economics and technology education. Walnut Grove is the largest secondary school in Langley with a facility that can accommodate 2000 students.

Aldergrove, Brookswood, D.W. Poppy, Langley Fundamental, and Walnut Grove提供AP課程，但R.E Mountain and Langley Fundamental Secondary並未提供。
AP課程內容包含：Languages – English, English Literature; Social Studies – Psychology, History; Visual and Performing Arts – Studio Art; Mathematics – Calculus; Science – Chemistry, Biology, Physics

Langley School District 加拿大公立蘭里教育局的國際生課程(International student program)自1989年開辦以來，始終是自設寄宿服務部門，因此聚積了相當豐富的經驗，寄宿部門會24小時關懷學生，確保學生的安全，也會適當的挑選寄宿家庭，以確保這些家庭都歡迎國際生並能友善的協助學生融入他們的家庭中。所有寄宿家庭都提供：
→私人房間，包含床、桌子、檯燈和衣櫃
→一天三餐，另加點心
→通常住在學校附近，可步行上學，若並非住學校附近，寄宿家庭會為學生提供交通接送
